Melis White
Biography
Melis is originally from Istanbul, Turkiye and studied Theatre Arts at New Mexico State University. During her time as a student she sang with the University Singers, performed in many plays and musicals with the theatre department, and was President of NMSU's Creative Student Theatre Company (now known as Ember Theatre Co.) for 3 years. She has a background in teaching music, theatre, and English privately overseas as well as being a director and mentor at A Children’s Theatre of Mesilla Valley since 2013. Following graduation, Melis participated in the Disney College Program in Florida. When Melis is not at NMSU being an advisor, you can find her at home cuddling with her two orange cats.

Why did you become an academic advisor?
Melis has a strong passion for student success and helping students find their passion and be able to make the most out of their education and feel excited to pursue their dreams, these are a few of the many reasons she wanted to become an academic advisor and she is thrilled to be joining the CAASS team.
