Biography

I was born in Las Cruces but shortly moved up to Albuquerque. I spent a long time there before finding my way back to the starting place! I graduated from NMSU in 2022 with a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and jumped around a bit before coming to a rest in the Higher Education System. I hope to eventually get to Law School at UNM as that is my passion. I am a big Star Wars nerd and have always loved science fiction.

Why did you decide to become an Academic Advisor?

I became an Academic Advisor as I really enjoy helping others. I found that calling in the previous position as I had always enjoyed the student facing side better. Having a background in Criminal Justice and having previous Military and Police family, I found it necessary to do what I could to help others. I am always excited to hear about each students experience that they have. During my college experience, I found that my Advisors were some of the most helpful people that pushed me to pursue my interests and goals, I am excited to be a part of the next series to be helping future college graduates!

Why/how did you decide what you wanted to major in in college?

I decided on Criminal Justice later on in my college career. I originally started out in Computer Science and enjoyed working with the computer systems. Later on, I took the Intro. To Criminal Justice class and found my calling! I enjoyed the work and research that surrounded it and started to look further into Criminal Justice. I ended up switching over in my Sophomore year and don’t regret it!
