Why did you decide to become an Academic Advisor?

As a person who has always been (and is always still) trying to figure out What to Be When They Grow Up, advising is a great fit to help others try to find that fit. Guiding and working with students to determine their genuine interests is inspiring, and seeing them find their best fit and move into the professional world is inspiring.

Did you face any challenges while in college?

Recognizing that my originally selected major was not the career choice for my future was an incredible challenge. However, I finished my degree and then embarked on a series of opportunities in various cities, which provided me with a more well-rounded life experience. I then returned to NMSU and obtained another degree, and continue to learn as I move through my professional career.
