Claire grew up as a military child but calls Virginia Beach, Virginia her home. She is an alumna of NMSU and is glad to be working for her alma mater. Claire is a big true crime junkie! She also enjoys watching movies/ TV shows, hanging with her friends, yoga, the farmer’s market, and building Legos. Claire loves to travel; London was her most recent trip and she is trying to decide where her next trip should be. She is thinking of going somewhere on the East Coast of the USA.
Why did you decide to become an Academic Advisor?
I was inspired by past educators to make a difference in the academic journey and be that support system. Being an advisor allows me to empower students. Helping them figure out their path, what classes to take, and how to reach their goals is incredibly rewarding. There's nothing quite like seeing someone graduate or land their dream job and knowing you played a part in their success.
What extra/co-curricular activities did you participate in as an undergraduate?
While attending NMSU, Claire was in a variety of extracurriculars on campus, to name a few: TRIO, Greek Life, and a Senator for ASNMSU.
