Why did you decide to become an Academic Advisor?
I didn’t realize how passionate I was about helping college students until I moved away in 2019. I truly missed being on campus and being involved in supporting students. When we decided to move back to Las Cruces, I knew I wanted to get back to NMSU. When the advising position became available, I jumped at the chance to apply. I am thrilled to be back on campus! I am exactly where my heart tells me I should be.
Why/how did you decide what you wanted to major in in college?
At the time I decided to go back to college, I was working full-time at the College of ACES. Being a non-traditional student, I needed a program that was online. I love computers and technology, so the Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology fit the bill.
Did you face any challenges while in college?
Working full-time and going to college was a definite challenge! I also had family obligations with kids and a husband. There were times I wanted to give up. But I persevered and I’m so glad I did. I’m very proud to be an Alum of NMSU!
